Overview
On March 16, 1998, Hewlett-Packard will introduce the HP LaserJet
5000, 5000N, 5000GN (P/N C4110A, C4111A, and C4112A). These
printers use the same print engine (with slight modification) as
the HP LaserJet 4000, 4000N, 4000T, and 4000TN printers. Some of
the significant differences between the LaserJet 5000 and the
LaserJet 4V/4MV (from a service and support perspective) are as
follows:
- Prints on paper sizes up to 12.28 by 18.5 inches.
- Prints full bleed images (up to A3 and 11 x 17) by
printing images on larger paper that can be trimmed to
the edges.
- ProRes 1200 (true 1200 dpi) for highest quality graphics
printing.
- FastRes 1200 for fast, high-quality image printing.
- New HP precision toner for high quality print.
- Prints 16 pages per minute.
- 100 MHz RISC microprocessor.
- Prints the first page in 13 seconds.
- Available HP JetDirect print server EIO cards with
support for all leading network operating systems.
- Helpful printer software provided on a compact disc.
- 3 built in DIMM slots for memory expansion.
- Available flash and memory DIMM cards.
- Up to 100 MB maximum memory capability.
- 2 EIO interface slots for I/O cards and disk cards.
- Available hard drive EIO card for storage of additional
fonts and forms (standard on the HP LaserJet 5000GN
printer).
- 100 sheet multi-purpose tray.
- 250 sheet paper feeder (standard on all models).
- 500 sheet universal paper feeder (standard on the HP
LaserJet 5000N and 5000GN models).
- Up to 4 paper trays possible.
- Optional duplex printing accessory for two-sided
printing.
- HP"s PostScript Level 2 Emulation standard.
- 10,000 page toner cartridge.
- 1 year Return to Bench warranty.
- New 65,000 pages per month duty cycle.
